Gamesradar ผู้จัดงานอีเวนต์ Golden Joystick Awards 2020 ได้ประกาศผลโหวตเกมที่ได้ชิงรางวัลสุดยอดเกมแห่งปี 2020 อย่างเป็นทางการ โดยมีผลลัพธ์สรุปว่า The Last of Us Part II ได้ขึ้นแท่นเป็น Ultimate Game of The Year ของปี 2020 อย่างเป็นทางการ จากผลโหวตมากที่สุดในบรรดารายชื่อเกมทั้งหมดที่เข้าชิงรางวัลนี้
นอกจากนี้ The Last of Us Part II ได้รับรางวัลสาขาเกมเพิ่มเติมอีก 5 สาขา โดยได้รับรางวัลเกมเล่าเรื่องยอดเยี่ยม, เกมออกแบบกราฟิกยอดเยี่ยม, ออกแบบเสียงยอดเยี่ยม, เกมสำหรับ PlayStation ยอดเยี่ยม และสตูดิโอเกมยอดเยี่ยม (Naughty Dog) ซึ่งเท่ากับว่า The Last of Us Part II คว้ารางวัลทั้งหมด 6 รางวัล
ส่วนเกมอื่น ๆ เช่น Hades ได้รับรางวัลเกมอินดี้ยอดเยี่ยม และรางวัลเกมแนะนำโดยนักวิจารณ์ รวมถึง Fall Guys ขึ้นแท่นเป็นเกมครอบครัวยอดเยี่ยม กับเกม Multiplayer ยอดเยี่ยมอย่างสมศักดิ์ศรี ส่วน God of War: Ragnarok ได้รับเป็นเกมที่มีคนรอคอยที่สุด
